Following the end of a successful first competitive season for the club in NBL, the club are looking to grow by welcoming new players. The Swarm have teams across 5 age groups: Under 12 (2010 born and later), Under 14 (2008-2010 born), Under 16 (2006-2008 born), Under 18 (2004-2006 born), and Senior Men (open age).
Manchester Swarm fielded 6 teams in the 2021/22 season, with the Senior Men finishing 2nd in NBL Division 3 North West & reaching the playoff quarter finals. Under 18 Black and Under 18 Gold achieved 4th place and 6th place finishes respectively in NBL U18 North West. Under 16 came 2nd in NBL U16 North West 2, whilst Under 14 and Under 12 both obtained 3rd place finishes in their respective leagues.
Director of Basketball Greg Mpofu said - "We're very proud at the club to have been able to complete our first competitive season, especially after the challenges that the previous 2 years brought with them. The coaching team are to be commended for their results, even beyond the league tables, but our mission remains the same, that being providing a safe and enjoyable environment for youngsters in the city to play their basketball, with the senior men there to inspire their growth in the game and provide a potential outlet at the top end. I'm very eager to continue our growth and welcome even more players to the fold."
