This weekend sees 5 games for the Manchester Swarm as all 4 NBL teams take the floor. Read the weekend preview below.
SATURDAY
Under 14 vs Lancashire Spinners (North West II Conference - 0-1):
The Swarm Under 14s will be seeking to bounce back from a 5-point loss to Cheshire Wire in their previous outing. They go into the contest against Lanchashire Spinners at the Bury Sport for All Centre in Whitefield, tipping off at 16:15.
Under 18 vs Manchester Giants Green (North West Conference - 0-0; 1-0 overall):
The Swarm Under 18s will be getting their league campaign underway, following a postponed fixture the previous weekend. In their solitary outing this season, the Under 18s defeated Sheffield Elite II to progress to the second round of the national cup. The first part of a double-header against Giants teams, the game takes place at Droylsden Academy at 10am.
Senior Men vs Preston (Division 3 North West - 2-0; 3-0 overall):
The senior men have just the one game this weekend, following a testing but memorable double-header weekend againt Liverpool the previous week. They welcome a strong Preston outfit also looking to continue their early season momentum. The early season league leaders take on their Lancashirian opponents at NBPC Belle Vue in a 5pm tip-off.
SUNDAY
Under 16 vs Leeds LDM (National Cup Round 2 - First round bye)
The Under 16s make their first foray into the National Cup for this season, as they received a first round bye, whilst their opponents defeated Calderdale Explorers in the previous round to progress. This will be the first competitive outing for the team of the season, having had their league game the previous week called off. This game takes place at the Manchester Basketball Centre in Whalley Range, tipping off at 3pm.
Under 18 vs Manchester Giants White (National Cup Round 2 - First Round def. Sheffield Elite II)
The Under 18s complete their double-header weekend taking on their league rivals, and the second of 3 Giants teams they will face this season. Swarm defeated Sheffield Elite II to earn their spot in this round, whilst Giants White defeated Sheffield Junior Sharks. The game takes place at Droylsden Academy in a 2pm tip-off.
